Narcissus II - Labradorite and Skunk Skull Charivari Locket
$750.00 Sold out
Inspired by the traditional Bavarian hunting relics of yore, this fierce statement piece was created as a protective totem for the wearer. This skull was sourced from an unfortunate road casualty.
Flashy Labradorite cabs adorn the eyes and nasal cavity, and the entire setting has been hand-fabricated from solid sterling silver with a rich rough texture with moon and star motifs that contrast in a high polish.
The setting has been hinged at the jaw, allowing the mouth to open 180 degrees, and reveal an ornamental plate where the tongue would be, featuring another hidden star.
The teeth have sterling bands that allow the jaws to snap shut and lock closed during wear.
The front right tooth has been left in its worn state. Usually I repair broken teeth, however, this break happened during the life of the animal, and shows a polished wear from continued use after the loss of the tip. I feel that this detail adds tot he story of this creature, and so I have left it uncapped in all its beauty. Sweet resilience.
A large ornamental bail allows for free-swinging movement.
The back features hand-cut and chiseled sterling wings, and has been stamped .925 STERLING along with my maker's mark MF.
Truly a one-of-a-kind statement piece!
Entire pendant measures 4 inches long including the bail, and hangs on a 24 inch long sterling silver 4.1 mm flat link chain that is full adjustable. Closes with a lobster clasp and my signature star charm adorns the reverse.

As with all handmade and one-of-a-kind jewelry, utmost care should be taken to keep jewelry clean and dry. Never wear your pieces while bathing, swimming, or washing dishes to avoid having them submerged in water. Bones and stones are porous and susceptible to become weak when they get wet. Metals can tarnish and lose their patinas more quickly if they get wet or washed with chemicals frequently. Also, please remove your pieces before any strenuous activities as they are fragile and parts could be knocked loose or fall out. Treat your jewelry like the unique piece of art that it is and it will remain in good condition for ages.
